Crocodile Stitch Shawl

So I don't know if this is an original pattern but this is one of those that I thought of on my own.  I really wanted to do a crocodile stitch and also wanted to make a shawl for work.  With the fact I have been getting cold while working I wanted to do something I could leave there and that would look really cool.  So I have combined the two after I watched a tutorial on how to make them again.  I watched it long ago when I was bored and just wanted something to do and listen to.

What I'm doing:
Chain 6
Row 1: In Second Stitch from hook DC, skip 1 DC x2 in Stitch, skip 1 DC in next stitch. Turn.
Row 2: DC x5 around the first post going down, Chain 2, DC x5 going up second post, slip stitch into top of Row 1 last DC. Turn. (1 Scale)
Row 3: Chain 3, DC into same stitch as Chain 3, Chain 1 then DC into opening of first "scale", Chain 1 DC x2 into last stitch. Turn.
Row 4: *DC x5 around first post going down, Chain 1, DC x5 going up second post, slip stitch into top of the single DC.  Repeat from *. (2 Scales)
Row 5: Chain 3, DC into same stitch as Chain 3, *Chain 1 then DC into opening of the "scale", Chain 1 DC x2 into slip stitch. Repeat from *x2. Turn.
Row 6: *DC x5 around first post going down, Chain 1, DC x5 going up second post, slip stitch into top of the single DC.  Repeat from * x2. (3 Scales)
Row 7:  Chain 3, DC into same stitch as Chain 3, *Chain 1 then DC into opening of the "scale", Chain 1 DC x2 into slip stitch. Repeat from * x3. Turn.
Row 8:  *DC x5 around first post going down, Chain 1, DC x5 going up second post, slip stitch into top of the single DC.  Repeat from * x3. (4 Scales)
Row 9:  Chain 3, DC into same stitch as Chain 3, *Chain 1 then DC into opening of the "scale", Chain 1 DC x2 into slip stitch. Repeat from * x4. Turn.
Row 10:  *DC x5 around first post going down, Chain 1, DC x5 going up second post, slip stitch into top of the single DC.  Repeat from * x4. (5 Scales)
Row 11:   Chain 3, DC into same stitch as Chain 3, *Chain 1 then DC into opening of the "scale", Chain 1 DC x2 into slip stitch. Repeat from * x5 Turn.
Row 12:  *DC x5 around first post going down, Chain 1, DC x5 going up second post, slip stitch into top of the single DC.  Repeat from * x4. (6 Scales)

I'm in the middle of working this so I will update as I continue it.   If you want to hear about my progress please check out my other blog linked here.
